Leveling a hillside in order to take advantage of a spectacular view is not as perplexing as it first seems. Either a concrete pad or wood deck will do the trick.
This 10' gazebo is fastened to a concrete deck with column bases and concrete anchor bolts. The railing patterns are cut from 1x6 lumber. The open air cupola allows warm air to escape while keeping out the rain.
Cedar shingles complete the roof. Shakes or compostion shingles could also be used. The roof decking consists of tongue and groove lumber which makes for a very finished interior. |
